Catted DP for 2022 540i

Hi, I have been reading thru the forum for several weeks trying to figure out what catted dp to go with. AA is definitely out of my price range.
Since my car is 2022 unfortunately tuning is not an option, but I’m planning to install JB4 and run map 2 or 3.
Besides the AA, are there any dp’s that guarantee no CEL? Also does JB4 remove CEL?

All suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!

As far as I know, only AA guarantees no CEL, although if you read through other threads here you will see examples of some DP's that generated or didn't generate a CEL on particular cars. If you have to spring for the AA, just take comfort in the fact that unlike us N63 owners, you only need one DP.

There is some threads of getting a downpipe and getting an o2 spacer. I have spoken with the guys from MAD and that’s what I plan to do here soon.

I don’t believe the jb4 will delete the light. It used too in the past until an update they did.

Only way would be with a tune.

If you want no CEL guarantee, AA is the best value option

if you are willing to try other means for no CEL, the best value downpipe is the MAD

Jb4 should delete the code but manually. It will not auto clear in the united states.

You can try one of our 200cell catted options and try some different spacers. Even if it doesn't prevent it forever if you can get it to 500-1000 miles or so a simple jb4 clear every couple weeks doesn't seem horrible.

I think I’m gonna go with the 4.5” MAD catted dp as you guys suggested.
Any forums discounts?

Erasing the code every now and then shouldn’t bother me. Honestly I prefer that over installing o2 spacers, since I read here that it could mess up the AFR.

Reading thru the dp description I noticed it says “race use only”, not sure what that means though.

Typically, "race use only" is the same as "off road use only," meaning they put that on there to make it legal for them to sell it in places like California. Usually, these products are absolutely meant to be used on typical roads but this transfers the onus to the owner of the car, instead of the manufacturer.
