Oh you got Jokes this Monday!

I enjoy me some Invicta and especially Nixon watches. Love me some chunky, heavy watches. But by admission, not dropping significant $$$ on one. These bad boys do me just fine.

Tool's discography just became available in high-res, so of course I bought every album! Not sure why Tidal doesn't have them in Master quality too, but I don't mind possessing the 24/96k files.

My KEF LS50s and I are going to have a serious listening session tonight!

It always makes me smile to see a fellow Tooligan. What do you think of the new album?

I've had it since Sunday night. It's been on rotation in the car since then. It's been a crazy week though so I haven't had the opportunity to actually sit down and immerse myself in it yet. From 7-12 minute drives here and there and not being able to devote myself to an entire song beginning to end, without distraction, Pneuma and 7empest are my favorites. I'll be at work when the CD gets delivered today so I won't be able to listen to the 3 tracks not on the CD until tonight. Rumor has it that they are just segways in to the other songs. They were not included on the CD as they filled up the data that could be contained on a CD with the actual music.

Apparently this is how I got my copy.

Side note: So far there have been reports of 4 different artwork styles on the back of the new CD. Apparently some are more rare than others. The artwork itself is the same, but there are symbols overlayed that are different.

labor day special on Ebay. this exact wet tile saw at Home Depot is selling for $219 without the stand. On Ebay they have a Labor Day sale and this exact Rigid wet tile has a free stand and extra blade which would be $270. with the discount I got it for $188! this will be used to do the downstairs basement tile flooring as well as the Master Bedroom bath upgrades to the floor, bathtub and shower. and I just realized I will also use this in the upstairs bathroom when it comes time to upgrade that as well

Damn Diesel got me again. I just bought a belt from them a week or two ago, so I guess their algorithm decided to lure me in with a marketing email focused on belts and their 20% off plus free shipping Labor Day promotion. Couldn't pass up 20% off the already discounted 50% off this belt. Considering I'm a NY'er, it's no surprise I picked the black one.

I am expecting to mostly wear this one on the golf course.

Jack Daniels and I went straight through the album in a single listening session last night. Tool gets more progressive-rock as they age, but I really dig the album... Especially for the sonics. So glad to have it as part of my high-res audio collection.

7empest gave me the best first impression. It even made it into my Rock playlist in my DJ software. It was the only song that I think I'd really play at the club while girls are on stage. I'll just cue it up at 1:14 and fade out at the first break around 5:14.

Descending; Invincible; and Fear Inoculum are definitely part of my personal "liked songs" in Spotify, but they're a little too drawn out for the club.

BTW... Many of my Spotify playlists are public. Just search glennQNYC.

Needed some comfortable shoes for an upcoming business convention, so I picked a pair of these knit wingtip oxfords by Cole Haan. These have their cushy Grand.0S sole.

i'll startup the BBQ grill and we'll have steaks!

spent some time on which impacts to get. have quite a few mechanic friends and they all recommended the Milwaukee impacts. so i'll give it a try. I picked up 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4" impact drivers as well as their Hammer Drill. thought about which kind of torque wrench to get...digital or manual and I thought digital can go bad someday than what? so I went with the manual version. been watching a lot of YouTube videos on tools and man there's a lot of Snap On tool fanboys out there and I can understand why. if you're a full time mechanic you gotta have the best tools to do the job. but for someone like myself a Weekend Warrior of just doing maintenance and what not i'll spend money on tools I can justify spending money on.

All my shop guys at the plant use Milwaukee tools. We buy them whatever they need, and it's a nasty environment with aggressive chemicals.

These have lasted the longest for the abuse they get. We also have a local distributor that sells Proto I think. They seem to have pretty good stuff as well.

Lol.....I'm old. I've still got tons of Craftsman tools. Before the store closed down near me, if I ever had an issue I would take it in and they wouldn't even question me. Just tell me to get another one.

I use to go to Sears and walk up and down the tool aisle just looking at all the shiney stuff I couldn't afford to buy lol!

Dude, you have to check these out. They are pricey, and sadly I can't justify the spend, but these are some great tools.

One of my former jobs was buying tools and I came across these a couple of years ago at a Fastenal trade show. I'd love to have a set of each but for the limited amount of time I turn wrenches these days, I just can't justify spending this much money on tools.
