What Blue To Choose For 335I
Any regrets , If you had to do again, would you still pick the Montego over Monaco ?
How is Montego holding up in the long run I have Montego on order, I am still not certain about this selection. I know color is purely subjective, but your input is greatly appreciated here. |

IMO - the montego is nice.... as long as you get the 17" or 18" wheels... i've seen the 325 with this color... wimpy rims with a bold color....doesn't work for me...but the sport aggressive wheels seem to make this color work nicely. my buddy has monaco.... boring! |

Montego if you're gonna buy the coupe, monaco if you're gonna buy the sedan. I've seen a montego blue coupe and thought it was drop dead sexy, but I thought it looked odd on the sedan. Vice versa with the monaco on the two.

+1 For w/e reason, montego looks better on the coupe. Guess since the coupe is more sporty than the sedan and montego is a very sporty color.

sorry but I'm partial to the monaco. It is tough to keep the swirls away since it's so dark, but it's just nice in my opinion.

As far as Montego goes I would and will buy my next BMW with that color.
If your worried about swirls and having to wash the car more often buy white or learn how to care for the paint.

Montego Blue does look drop dead georgeous on a coupe. I obviously will go for montego because it's what i chose. It looks extraordinary at night. =P stick with your order!

I really like my Monaco. It almost looks black at night. It is a pain to keep clean though.

i think the monaco is beyond sick. Its a dark blue which gives the car more class. in certain lights you can see hues of almost violet and at night its almost black but will make people double take because they really wont know exactly what color it is. Believe me, i was set on monaco blue but i couldnt resist the coral red in the saphire black. Plus Monaco is rarely seen while montego is everywhere (but who am i to talk about that, i have a black bmw haha).

I got black sapph.. but before that I did consider Montego and Monaco.
My main concern with montego is that it would wear out of its initial novelty to finally become a "boy-racer" car. Monaco on the other hand is kinda boring, but imo is a better long term choice and looks amazing with saddle interior. |

They are both nice. But here's what I think. Montego is on the sporty side. Monaco is on the classy side. If I'm younger I'd probably go Montego. But I'm more on a classy side and I know I can switch to sportiness by just changing my wheels and adding some body work.
Coldintake is correct. I saw an E92 Monaco Blue with saddle brown interior and it was drop dead gorgeous. It's different, it's rare, it's dark but it's not black. |

Had a very similar color to Monaco on my '03 325i. I loved the color but it was high maintenance! Looked dirty in a day or two, and showed scratches easily. Ask yourself, are you a do-it-yourself wash/wax your car frequently guy? If not, go w/ another color like Ti or AW. BTW, I don't like the Montego at all. To me, it's more of a feminine color (no offense to you Montego ppl). But hey, there are guys here that paint their cars pink or turquoise and put big cartoon stickers on it. Go w/ your gut, but consider maintenance.

Montego for sure on the coupe, I can see what everyone says about the color looking different on coupe vs. sedan. I personally have the coupe and EVERYTIME I look at her I fall in love with the car because this color is pure sex day or night! I don't know what it is, maybe the fact that its a rare color where I live (only seen 2 or 3). When you detail the car it's unbelievable how this color looks!!! In bright sun it pops like no other color for some reason.

I love my montego coupe. Everywhere I go random people tell me how pretty my blue is. They don't even mention the car, just the blue. I kind of have a blue obsession (house, clothes, solo cups, etc). However, monaco is a lot more rare, and its really really pretty. It just doesn't show up blue enough for my tastes. I've actually seen one in person and thought it was black. Look up a member by the name of "crazy sellout". His monaco coupe is stunning.
