M550i brake specifications?

I'm having difficulty finding the specs on the brakes like the rotor size.

I am curious about this. Does the pdf indicate that a new master cylinder is needed when the M Sport brake package is added? I discovered that the part number of the standard 540 master cylinder (last three digits -095) is different from that of the master cylinder on the M Sport brakes on a 540 or M550 (-616). When I search on the internet for the upgrade there is no mention of the master cylinder needing to be changed if you upgrade a standard 540.--Bob

I know I'm digging up an old thread but main thing would be pedal feel

If you upgrade from the bone stock setup (34 33 6 881 095 Master Cylinder & 34 33 6 874 524 Brake Booster) to the bigger diameter discs and multi-piston sport brakes then you'll have more pedal travel and a "spongier" feel.

You don't HAVE to upgrade the master cylinder/brake booster (if you upgrade one you HAVE to upgrade the other) as I'm fairly certain you'll be able to still apply enough pressure with the travel that exists to overwhelm your tire's grip limits.

The "downside" of the smaller master cylinder & weaker brake booster is the spongier feel of the pedal as you'll need more travel in the pedal to move the pads a given distance. If you can still lock the wheels (i.e activate ABS) it's purely a "feel" thing and you won't get any performance benefit from the changeover.
