OEM euro LCI tail lights - found an online source with custom harnesses
https://youtu.be/epCcm3BCcr8
If anyone is interested in updating their tail lights to the OEM euro set up, I found this online he sells OEM tails and includes the parts you need to repin. I called him. His name is Amir and he verified that the lights in this kid are not Amazon. They are OGM in original BMW boxes along with the parts needed to repin. I’m going to order a set I’ll update everyone on how it goes but wanted to share in case anyone was interested

I did not know that!!
That makes sense as he certainly appears to have a ** significant ** amount of knowledge on upgrading these cars!

Any more info on how this is being accomplished without coding on OEM lights? I was under the impression that the coding is tied to different light technology and to prevent errors with bulb checks and such. OEM with P&P harness wouldn't solve that. Someone please educate me as this is the first I hear about OEM plug and play.

I believe these light still require coding..they just come wired so you dont’ have to pin them.. but i have left. Message with seller to clarify that.

I’ll update you if I actually ordered them my understanding is the tail lights plug and play in the sense that you don’t need to customize the pins but all of the LCI tail lights require coding no matter what.
I think there are some cheap shit ones off of Amazon that are plug and play and you don’t need to code but they suck and water gets into them and they short circuit they’re not worth it The ones I link above are OEM

He's just including the parts you need to repin, right? So some wire and a thumbtack?
What would be ideal for some people is an adapter that reassings or reroutes the pins assignments. Repinning is not hard and running the jumper is easy. Coding is the hard part and taking on the risk of losing it.

I've had my Amazon sourced lights since Feb 2022. No issues with them, fully functional, no water intrusion, using the parts they sent- didn't even do the OE rails and gutter. Rained enough in CA to cause substantial flooding- lights and trunk stayed dry though. |

So since you can’t really get the real deal easily, hell it may be worth a look at the knock offs. They are cheap as hell. They aren’t as bright as OEM, but for the money and the lack of coding needed, they are almost throw away. They look decent. The black 3D effect is kind of sloppy, but from a distance no one can tell.

I posted a photo of mine in the thread for the aftermarket lights, haven't taken many photos. Changes the entire tone of the rear of the car. Yes they are plug and play. I got my set for $600, think they are $500 now on Amazon and there's also a version with sequential turn signals if that's what you're in to.
