Damn that sucks. I was in and out in 30 minutes, expecting the same for second dose.
That's the way it was for me on first dose. Still waiting for second but think I'm next. Already had to reschedule 1 meeting so I hope so.

Edit: went in right after posting so now just waiting for card and handing out in case of reaction

Getting second shot of Pfizer Wed. No side effects from first shot aside from sore arm and some joint pain for about an hour after the shot.

Iím agitated from waiting but so far nothing from the vaccine. My understanding is that it may not hit for 10-12 hours if at all.

I prefer this site:

40.1% first dose
25.8% both doses

Still not nearly enough.

Second shot Friday afternoon, Moderna. Sore arm, no other symptoms to be reported. Went all weekend with no fever, sweats, or birds falling out of the sky. Biggest annoyance is hearing about why I shouldn't have got the vaccine from all the local health professionals, read as no one who works in the medical field.

Wifey gets her second Moderna on Wednesday. Hoping for no reaction. Seems to be fairly random on who has a noticeable reaction and who doesn't. I know folks who get sick if a fly sneezes near them. Yet they sailed through both shots with nary a hiccup. I am rarely ill, yet it hammered me for a day. Go figure.

Because it's not making you ill, your immune system is reacting to the vaccine. If you are rarely ill, it's because your immune system is strong. If your immune system is strong, your body is going to react strong to combat a perceived threat which causes the fever, the achiness, the fatigue, etc.

The evidence that's been shared with me by my colleagues is that those who've had the virus tend to have a more severe reaction to the vaccine because your body is quick to fight off what it's seen before and the first shot tends to have more of an impact. Those that haven't had the virus more often get it worse with the second shot because their body isn't yet primed for a response. The second shot is needed to provide the exposure to prompt a strong response since it's learned from the first one by that time.

Yeah, if anything, no reaction to the Moderna or Pfizer would make me wonder if my immune system is functioning well. Side effects go down with increasing age as immune senescence takes its toll.

Wife got her second Pfizer at noon yesterday. Seemed to walk it off, no injection pain.

Last night as she went to bedrooom about 9, she was getting achy. Much like a description above, she normally always has her feet out of covers, and a fan at the foot of the bed under the covers, as well as one across her face. She turned them both off and said she couldn't get warm. She didn't go to work today.

Got pfizer, first shot only sore arm.

Second shot, fever, sore arm. For what it matters, I did have COVID before.

23.5 hours after second Pfizer and no major issues, at least so far. Still 97.6 degrees. Minor headache and body aches but resolved with Tylenol.

About 2 weeks after my 2nd shot I had this overwhelming desire to go out for lunch.

In theory... that means that within 2 weeks, 40% will have both doses... that should have an enormous impact... if it doesn't, we are screwed.

Had 2nd Pfizer shot this morning. No extra appendages apparent, FM reception still questionable.

Kudos to the volunteers who staffed the facility. They are moving people through there with the efficiency of a Chik-Fil-A drive-through.

Well, looks like I got through 48+ hours after second Pfizer shot with no significant side effects. Headache, some minor body aches and a little tired and not even sure those are from the shot. Arm actually hurt less for second shot than first.

Hopefully Walgreens didn't give me saline like they did to some people at a store in NC.

My arm hurt a bit less for the 2nd shot of Moderna as well, but I had a worse fever.

That's good, some people really get no effects from it.

And wait what about this saline??? I need to look this up I haven't heard of it.

Edit: just read it, Wtf? First they were administering Pfizer 2nd dose 4 weeks out instead of the 3 weeks recommended by the CDC. And now they putting saline into ppl accidentally? Sheesh

Yeah itís pretty surprising to me. I always get my flu shots at Walgreens and they always seemed pretty good about it. First COVID shot went fine but second shot at Walgreens took forever and they seemed overbooked and somewhat disorganized. My wife and a bunch of people I know who went to Publix had no issues. Seems like they had their shit together better than Walgreens, but it is easier to schedule with Walgreens (maybe because they overbook!).

Reports Iím hearing locally now is that demand for the vaccine / appointments is falling and there are lots of open appointments. Hopefully the country doesnít lose momentum because while progress has been made, there is a long way to go to get the majority of people fully vaccinated, much less 70+%.
