M550i DINAN upgrades

So DINAN finally released an axle back exhaust for the M550i. I ordered it on Friday and should have it installed this week. I skipped the springs and ride quality package because I was concerned it might lower the car a little too much, and I have only seen one thread regarding it. Also spoke directly to DINAN and we should anticipate a bolt-on x-pipe to complete the cat-back exhaust (eliminating the resonators), as well as a stage 1 tune, within 90 days. Excited to get the full catback plus a tune, but wondering if the springs are worth it. Anybody have experience so far?

This is great. Please post photos and video if you can when you have it installed.

Cheers

I have the exact same concern - M550 is already lowered compared to the rest of the series but I want a stiffer ride particularly in Sport.

Also interested in a more aggressive sounding exhaust, let us know what you think when you get it done!

While we do our physical move across country this next couple weeks and get setup in Alabama the M550i will be sent down to LA for some press drives as well as some additional sound clips and all that. So, you will be seeing some stuff starting to pop up in terms of reviews in the next 60 days or so from quite a few major outlets.

I've got an incoming M550i in the next month or so. Looking forward to getting a stage 1 tune and +/- exhaust when you guys bring them out to retail. Who should I contact to get pricing/quotes when the time comes? Glad to see you guys are relocating to the east coast. Now closer to my neck of the woods

I did ride in the Dinan M550I and the suspension is amazing among other things. You lose the lack of road feel for feeling the bumps, not excessive at all. They told me that some of the waves in the road you would never feel but with the suspension you now get a sense of them. Past that, it was drove so hard through the back roads of CA, but never had an issue. I really doubt most will drive this car as hard as it was to be concerned about lowering it.

Currently waiting to spend around $3,000 on a tune but not sure I'll stretch out to $14,000.

The title is misleading... only about 6k is made up of Dinan parts (exhaust, tune and suspension). The rest is wheels, tires and carbon bits.

Will there be a simultaneous release for the G12 750i xDrive when the M550i Xdrive tune comes out? I know the exhaust is already out.

Thx

Yes. Same hardware, just a slightly different tune in the box.

Lease another and move it to the new car.... Not your point but still a way to rationalize it!!

Maybe a dumb question but can the stock tips be put back on? I really like the idea of keeping it stock looking.

Also, does this exhaust remove the flaps that are present in the stock exhaust?

The stock tips could probably be put back on if you have someone do some metal work - the stocks are trapezoidal at the ends.

The DINAN exhaust has its own flaps, the actuators work with the DINAN also.
