Pre production cars dont have all the correct parts.

Taking the color into account this car was built in February or March 2016 already.
Most newer M550i prototypes are black and a couple Bluestone. Mediterranean is quite rare at the moment.
47 M550i have been built so far in total.

I may have missed it in a thread but when is M550 available in the United States?
Is it six months after the 530/540 which would mean they come out in September 2017?

How do you know that's the M550i?
Not to mention the 550i badge on the bootlid

The pic in that link only showed the front. Of course later we got the rest of the pics were you can see the taped over 550i badge.

"Small" update for the M550i.
The 20" M668 will be delivered on sports tires (non Runflat, comes with a Tyre Repair Kit) - the 19" M664 are runflat.
It seem´s that the black M664 are not available from the factory.
And it seem's that the 20" 759i V-spoke are also available for the M550i (see pictures).

Standard are the "normal" LED-Headlights (see picture - notice that the car is equiped with winter tyres on that picture).
The adaptive M-Suspension is standard equipment - the adaptive M-Suspension professional is an option

Any word on the M550i's differential? Wondering if the M-Performance line will have one available for all the new M Performance vehicles.

It'd be cool to see it as an option

More like $75,000
Its should be about a 9% increase over the F10 550xi

The price is a large part in why many markets wont get it.
Why would there be such a huge jump between the F10 550i and this one?

I agree with rallybull, unlikely it would cost this much(75k Base). Price wise it shouldn't move very much as the S6 starts off at 70k, and I assume the E43 will be similar in price in base spec. I think M550ix will have base price of 72 if not less, then the M550i at 69K

Compared to an F10 550i X MSport, it comes with much more equipment as standard (somewhere near an $84k F10) and still doesn't have as much as the G30.

Interesting to see that BMW build a hand full prototypes with the normal automatic gearbox (you can see the M550i badge in the instrument cluster) and the black M664 (still wondering why they don't offer it from the factory) :

Hmm, so power basically jumps from 450hp (f10) to 462hp (G30) and they keep torque the same. I was expecting more.

Even a small update for the M550i.

For the US-Models:
The models that will be produced in the next days are mostly "photo cars". Most of them are going to produced with the option "without additional designation outside" - the small "M"-badge on the fenders is omitted (optioncode 3DZ). This means that it will probably be possible for the US-models to cancel the model lettering on the fender.
Standard Equippment for US-Models:
- 2NH M-Sportbrake
- 2TB Sport Automatic Transmission
- 2VF Adaptive M-Suspension
- 22D 19" 664M Ceriumgrey Runflat
- 302 Alarm System
- 4UR Ambient Light
- 403 Glas Roof, Electric
- 459 Seat Adjustment, Electric with Memory
- 481 Sport Seats for Driver/Front Passenger
- 524 Adaptive Headlights
- 534 Automatic Air Conditioning
- 609 Navigation System Professional
- 650 CD Player
There are now 35 M550i in US-specification built or got a VIN.

For the EU-Models:
For the EU-models, the production of the press cars will soon begin. Many vehicles are in preparation, the VINs are already taken. These are also no longer equipped with the "camouflage", they are clear as "presscars" declared. This means that we may soon be able to count on test reports.
There are now 57 M550i in EU-specification built or got a VIN.
