That's going to be tough. What was your last setup like? Is it salvageable at all?

My rig cost me over $800.00, not including time to get it working properly and effectively. Hmmmm

I meant what was your rig setup like? Are any of the components salvageable? How come you are rigging with a flash?

just experimental haha and of course I want one that is pretty secure, i mean its not going to go in harsh environments, but I want to have on to have one, nothing extreme or anything. it was a suction mount with an extension basically and thats what im still looking at now.

F1000s seem to be recommended everywhere I go, but I've also heard that they can leave marks on the surfaces they've been attached to. Are these marks easily removed?

Yes they are easily removed.

I stuck mine on a black F430 Scuderia, little bit of spray wax and cloth and the marks were gone.

I'm planning to drop $300 on a car rig next week, and I've been researching extensively...or perhaps not enough?

I plan to get the following:

2x Avenger F1000 Cups
3x Manfrotto Super Clamps
1x Manfrotto Magic Arm w/ Camera Platform

Boom will be considered later - that's easy.

Is there a better set-up that you guys know of around that price range? Maybe something a lot more stable...

I remember seeing a 3-legged rig which made cloning on top of the car easier since you could just "pre-make" statics of the car and overlap them in Photoshop, but I don't know what components are needed to make it, and I bet it's a ton more expensive than the equipment I've listed already.

http://forums.mycanikon.com/showthread.php?t=3970
That's the set-up I'm planning to do.
