How’s the smell with catted down pipes?
Anyone with one that has no smell?

minimal to no smell with catted downpipes, as long you are getting a proven brand

That is pretty much what I am after! I know AA has the most efficient but it’s like $1400.

Any other brands that are proven

You can get the MAD catted downpipe with minimal to no smell, and improved air flow and sound. But AA is the only one that won't trigger a check engine light

Yeah that’s what I have heard unless I use a spacer or something or tune but right now I’m not running a tune since I’m under bmw warranty

I have a Evolution Racewerks catted down pipe. There's a slight smell of fuel when the car is running in the garage. A little smell of fuel out weight the performance you will gain.

Oh for sure I would go catless but I have young kids and my cars my daily and just rather have a mild smell compared to the full smell from catless

Didn't know about he smell issue. I was looking at the VRSF catless but now I'm worried I'll get a smell and hear my family complain lol .. I really want a more aggressive sound with turbo spool and wonder if this will help. If so, I'll care less about the smell and just pull the trigger.

I had vrsf catless on my 335 and it was great but if you stood behind the car, or if the car was running and you were really anywhere near it the smell was pretty strong.

Thats why i prefer the catted option. You get the same power with no smell and a cleaner exhaust tone.
