I realize there are easier and more expensive ways to skin this cat but here's what I did with the tools and supplies I had on hand today. Yes I do realize there is next to 0 gains here.

Imo easiest way is just pulling valve fuse in the trunk (F203). All you do is put car in sport, visually make sure valve is open, then pull the fuse = permanently remain open.

I tried this on my car when first got it and it didn't work. I read that the car has to be under load (driving along in sport mode for the valve to open)

I then purchased the bimmerlink app, opened the valve and then removed the fuse.

All I did was make sure car was in sport mode at start up. But yes if you already have bimmerlink, you can just open flap that way. Cold start is loud with flap open. Not bad for stock.

I just did this. This has to be the EASIEST way yet! Took me all of a minute.

how much is bimmerlink? Also, with the valve open does it basically sound like its always on sports+ even when its in comfort mode?

3 settings as far as the exhaust valve goes.

1. Open

2. Closes

3. Auto (Auto valve open upon start up)

Sounds best in sport-sport plus.

I've never paid much attention to how it sounds in comfort.

Thanks for the info! Do I need like an obd plug? if so, roughly how much does that go for.

So if you "open" the valve in sports plus with bimmerlink. Does it sound better than a stock sports plus? or is the samething then?

Its the same thing. In sports +, the valve opens.
You can get a Enet cable from amazon for like 20 bucks plus the adapter to your phone.
I pulled the fuse on mine, but i mainly did it so when the exhaust smoke comes out in the colder months, it comes out of both mufflers versus one side. Lol.
