6K off what, MSRP or dealer addendum sticker? What about dealer fees and other add-ons they throw on the deal during the finance stage? Is the car new, loaner? In other words, need more info. However, congrats if you're happy!

The car had 14 miles, just came of the transport the day before. The manufacture msrp was 88k and no add ons.
I got 2k more on my trade in that CarMax and se price from two other dealers. Several dealers in my area we offering very similar discounts. |

Just started searching for prices for a new 550 here in the U.K. (rare car) and first quote comes back with 1.9% discount for cash , more for pcp lease
Not sure in general whether new BMWs don't have much discounts at the present time |

You said it yourself. A M550 is rare in the UK. So, either no one wants the M550 in your market (which I could understand with fuel prices there) or it's a rare find and dealers have little incentive to bargain. The supply chain issue has cut BMWs production numbers, and with demand remaining relatively high, there's little inventory. This problem exists pretty much all over, however my suspicion is the tide begins to turn during 2023.

$6k off brings it closer to 2022 prices. BMW raised the M550i base MSRP $4,700 from $76,800 in 2022 to $81,500 in 2023 for the same car.

That is a difficult decision, but signs point to the economy staying the same and bmw fiscal year end 3/31 so you should do okay.

From what I was told the last year for any generation ends early to allow for a larger retooling gap for the next model year. You may find yourself out of luck if you try to order in March only to find that all available 550's are claimed and production ends in April. |

I will find out on Monday for sure but after visiting a uk dealer today, it looks like there are no more allocations for the 550 in the uk. Apparently even the allocations for the 520d have been stopped
