530e stage 1 remap

Just some dumb n00b questions to the experts:
  1. as far as remapping goes, can I just consider the 4L of the 530e identical to the other B48 variants (e.g. 320/520i) and therefore just look for remaps for a generic B48, or it needs to be something specifically tailored for 530e, for the way the electric engine interact with the B48?
  2. Would it be possible to technically "remap" also the electric engine counterpart or it's pretty much fixed to the EOM output? Do you know of any cases where an electric engine was stage-1 boosted with no hw mod?
  3. What do you consider a "safe" range for a stage 1 remap for a B48? is 180-190kw achievable for a daily driver expected to last without technical issues for 3-4 years? What is the "sweet spot" in terms of performance increase (hp/nm) without risking any major issue in the "leasing" timeframe (4 years for my case)?
  4. is it something that can be done with DIY flash approach (similar to coding for basic options like BimmerCode/Link), or it's something that it's better to leave to the expert, and therefore pay a professional to do it?

Thanks for any input, much appreciated

I'll bite, fellow 530e owner here!

1. Any B48 OTS flash will do. I have MG Flasher and their flash is the same for all B48 variants.

2. I've asked several tuners and no one tunes the electric motor. I really wish they did! I was willing to pay a tuner to provide a custom file that increases the electric motor output and no one wants the business, probably due to demand (no one else is asking for it). By 2025 most BMWs will be full BEV or at least PHEV, you'd think they would future proof and start working on this now.

3. I have a catless DP, and run stage 2. I may stack a JB+ in the future but I think that is my limit. I've seen videos of a 499WHP 330e with the same engine, so I know we can push the B48 very hard, it just comes down to what you want out of it. So far it's been very reliable and the B48 is a sweet little engine. My daily driver and it's enough for now.

4. If you opt for the self-service route, BM3 or MG Flasher are fine choices, and 100% DIY with the proper OBD cable or bluetooth unit. Of course you can pay a tuner to do a custom tune and have a shop do the flash, all up to you.

Best of luck!
