When holding down the voice button for text to talk I used to get an audible tone, like the normal voice tone. For some reason I don't get that tone anymore.

Anyone else have this issue?

In the iPhone, the latest iOS 16 update has a "softer" tone for Siri. Is there any sound at all?

Nope. I do have an issue where the phone ring is so loud it startles everyone in the car! If I turn it down I can't hear the call

Make sure the iOS is on the latest update. Forget the phone both on iDrive and on Apple. Turn the phone off and on, reset iDrive by holding power (volume knob) until the screen resets.

Resync the phone with iDrive.
