Usefully Odd things coded on G30 and G01

Hey all you cool cats and kittens,

I wanted to share some odd things I coded on my BMW’s that I found useful. I used Bimmercode and the vehicles coded are a 2020 530e, 2021 540xi and a 2022 X3 M40i.

Brighter Instrument Cluster/Navigation Screen (All Vehicles)

I have 5% Tint on all windows including my windshield and found the cluster to be extremely dark. I was using a book light with electrical tape to shine a light on the sensors to brighten it. Now I can remove the light as it’s just as bright without it.

-Instrument Cluster
-3005 FuBi_Parameter
-DIM_DTM
-Custom Value (0X3F selected) Change to 0X7F
-Code!

Easy Entry/Exit Seats (530e, 540xi)

Seat bolsters deflate, seat rolls back, and headrest moves downward on exit; back to last setting on entry)

-Seat Module
-EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE change to MODUS_FA_LOGIC_TUER
-EASY_ENTRY change to ACTIVE
-KONFIGURATION_EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE change to ACTIVE

///M Performance/Alpina Cluster (530e)

This doesn’t apply to non-e drive models. No matter which cluster you pick on (e) models, the standard cluster remains. Follow the coding below to change Logo and Cluster Type.

-Instrument Cluster
-GLOBAL_FAHRZEUG_TYPE change to VERBRENNER
-Now pick your cluster type.

40i Power Meter in Lieu of Tachometer (Standard on my 540xi)

-Instrument Cluster
-GLOBAL_FAHRZEUG_AUSPRAEGUNG change to 48 VOLT
-POWERMETER_ENABLE change to ACTIVE

Rear Seatbelt Chime Disable (540xi, X3 M40i)

I randomly tote heavy items on the back seat which triggers the seatbelt chime. With this menu enabled, I can turn that reminder off on the rear seats.

-Headunit
-SEATBELT_REMINDER_MENU_AVAILABLE change to ACTIVE

Startup Splash Screen (ALL)

Changed my startup screen to the BMWi (On my 530e) and switched it from animation to a solid state.

-Headunit
-STARTUP_TYPE change to SPLASH

Change Driving Information (530e)

I found the standard MPG data to be useless, so I added a couple items that I found more purposeful.

-Headunit
-JOURNEYDATA_RECOUPERATION_COUNTER change to ACTIVE
-JOURNEYDATA_SAILING_COUNTER change to ACTIVE

Panic Button Shortcut on Remote (530e)

On hot days, it takes a while for the car to climatize via the mybmw app, if it even starts. I activated this menu and now I can change the shortcut function on the using the panic button from Welcome Home Lights to Climatize.

-Headunit
-KEY_CONFIG_COMFORT change to ACTIVE
-KEY_CONFIG_HOMELIGHT change to ACTIVE

I’ll post more as I remember other things coded.

This is a very good list. Thank you for your time!

I will play a bit with the dimming, although, making it super bright during the day helps big time. Maybe I will just use the manual dimming for night drives.

I tried the easy entry/exit on my 2019 540i... mostly didn't work. Seems the upper part of the seat reclines, but the seat definitely doesn't slide back.

I'm also struggling with the seat not moving backwards. Under KONFIGURATION_EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE I had the following options:
HKV_LKV_LBV_activated
LBV_activated (default)
LKV_LBV_aktivated

I tried them all. Steering, headrest and bladders are working but seat not moving back.

I have an EASY_ENTRY_TTB that is nicht active but not tried it yet. Do we know what this is for?

I'm nervous about the seat thing if it will kill the motors prematurely. Most seat motors don't move much and you're asking them to move a lot every time you exit and enter the car.

Doubt it. Many cars have been doing this for years, even decades. Kind of like worrying about wearing-out the power window motors.

Ok fair point.
