The New Car warranty is Bumper to Bumper which means it covers everything on the car (with some minor exceptions like tires). So, yes it can be replaced under warranty by the dealer.

Actually I did it with it with the iDrive controller. If you disable "dim ambient lighting at night" it gets super bright if you max it out. It was so bright with this disabled that I could see blue lines in the side mirrors!

I thought they could be brighten up more via coding That was the first thing I've disabled but for daytime I would love to have extra brightness

I'm quite sure you can just like the custom colors If I unchecked disable ambient lighting at night, it's so bright I see blue lines in my side mirrors.
