BMW Will Shift to Quarterly Sales Reporting (From Monthly Reports)

Via Autonews

BMW Group is moving to quarterly sales reporting in the U.S. and globally, joining an expanding roster of automakers seeking to avoid the vagaries of monthly results.

The company said it is making the shift, which affects the BMW and Mini brands, immediately to quarterly sales reporting in the U.S. and globally. It will report first-quarter U.S. sales in April.

"BMW Group remains focused on profitable growth," a BMW of North America spokesman said in an email Tuesday. "To further emphasize our focus on profitability, BMW Group has made the decision to report all sales and financial figures in alignment across all brands and regions on a quarterly basis, beginning in this financial year."

Everybody is copying Tesla's way of doing things.

It definitely makes way more sense.

Must be an industry-wide shift. Makes more sense to go quarterly....

I prefer monthly and let me deal with the volatility myself, almost always prefer more data...

This is a bummer. Did a post on 2019 BMW sales. G20 sales were terrible, and I wanted to see January numbers to determine if availability at dealerships was a factor. Now we'll have to wait. https://chrisparente.com/2020/01/17/2019-bmw-sales/
