Looks great.

Just already missing the standard dashboard. Don't understand why they are not offering it, since it was one of the most beautiful and most recognizable dashboards on the market.

Nice to see RHD versions.

Interesting this one is wearing Michelins on the M Sport wheels. Wonder what model they are ?
The other known tire for this wheel is the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3

Just love the nose without that horrible cut line from the F10

Looks great. I'd like to see more photos of the black one. All the press photos were that dark grey which IMO is one of the worst colors for any car.

Why many plastic buttons and switches.

Can't BMW use better quality materials to make you feel that their products are very expensive and high quality?

I was going to say the same thing. I really like the design of everything but it looks kind of cheap (materials not features wise) especially the large amounts of plastic in the steering wheel.

Because not everyone is fooled by shiny cheap plastic masquerading as metal and if done badly (like Merc) it looks really cheap.

Sorry, but that is not true, Mercedes uses a real metal in E class. There is no fake metal in E class for sure (same for the C class, S etc.). All the buttons (windows buttons, seat memory buttons, paddle shifters etc are made of very high quality solid metal peaces.

On the G30, I would just replace windows buttons with real metal ones, and that would be sufficient in my opinion.

Are you implying that the materials of 7 Series look and feel really cheap then?

And then again, you're wrong with Merc. They use the real solid metal unlike the the metal looking trim around steering wheel and gear on your M3.

I think he is confused with metal colour painted plastic buttons and switches in Audi/BMW vs real solid metal in Merc.

I'm not even a Merc fanboy but i give them credit for giving attention to details. Meanwhile, BMW is still making cars with disgusting halogen headlights as standard on 2017 3 Series and even the 2017 5 Series large executive luxury vehicle come with halogen reverse light. Just WTF really!!!

One more thing.
In BMW 7 (G11), the paddle shifters are made of aluminium from the from, but from the back (where you actually touch them), the are cheap plastic. I really hope this is not going to be the case with G30, but unfortunately I expect it to be. Mercedes and Porsche have really great solid 100% metal paddles, they feel great and you are really tempted to use them just because of that solid, cold feeling under your fingers.

Don't get me wrong, I still strongly prefer G30 to E class, but would be great that BMW improves those small things (it's not that difficult really) and make even the better car.

The E-class has metal window controls whereas the 5er does not, but otherwise the quality of the buttons and switches seems on par with the E-class.

2004 BMW 118D  [0.00]
I attended the launch in Oslo Norway, and the presenter said that the car was a pre-launch model, that might have more plastic than the final version.
This might be the issue with this car as well
