Whats your build date? if its parts then there is nothing they can do with slots like. well i dont think

Feel your pain. This is my 4th and last BMW. My 540XI was ordered end of January. Produced in April and hit Baltimore on April 28th. My dealer has been good at sending me screen shots of the status checks he gets off his dealer site. Last check said released to carrier on May 3rd and ETA at dealer May 5th ( only a 400 mile trip ). Still not received at dealership and this is April 11th. I mean, where in the hell is it? Taking a tour around the country? So ticked off right now.

I checked the the genious:

Our system is currently saying week 35, 27th Aug - 2nd Sep.

Emailed my dealer and said whats going on. They rang me within 30 mins and said there seems to be a change yesterday or event they say. They are contacting the plant to see whats going on. Could be due to parts etc but cant say yet what it will be.

So he will either get back to me today or tomorrow the lastest to let me know.

I asked what my options are, but as there are no cars available at the moment it will be difficult. OR if someone has had an order and cancelled it they could get lucky but not likely.

Going to see what they say first then take it from there.

Further on from my last quote.

Have been on to BMW genius haven't heard back from dealer yet but they have said there has been a change.

So from 3 hours ago it was: Our system is currently saying week 35, 27th Aug - 2nd Sep.

Now it is: Production will commence on 28th of May and you should be driving in your new 5 series by the end of June. You must be excited!

19th of June earliest, but the retailer may delay as they may have their own final checks to do before handing it over to you.

So it looks like a week later but havent heard from dealer.

Again these dates might change, they are trying to give me a heart attack here or something..

It's the fact that it's changing all the time. Not just for me but for everyone.
Build is week 23 now and delivery is wk 26 - Supposedly!
Really lost confidence and don't want to be in limbo.
Been offered a C63 today for slightly less money so now I'm really tempted by that... I'll hopefully decide overnight...

Hmmm really mate Merc over BMW thats a tough one i looked at the E class and it looked like i had two tablets there in front of me.

C63 is nice but i couldn't be tempted by merc.

Mine at the moment is week 22 but anything can change lol

I just want to start the build then not have to worry as i know its on a role then

Went for a test drive today in C63, loved it. Apart from the idrive equivalent which is poor.

But if I can get rid of mine then i'm seriously considering one of those!

Shame the genius guys cant tell you the order number as they only go by order number cant see name or anything

I have an M550 on order and it went into production 2 weeks early and will finish on May 15. Currently in assembly stage with 2 days remaining.

Guys, I know it's not easy to wait and that you are all upset because of the delays, but don't cancel your orders, you would make a terrible mistake. Trust me, it will pay off at the end, the car is absolutely amazing!
