Steering Wheels!

Just collected my G31 540i M Sport today and I have noticed it has the SE Steering Wheel not the 3 Spoke M Sport one....I think..

Can anybody confirm if the 2018 has changed?

Strangely enough I think I prefer it!

When I test drove both a G30 M Sport & G31 M Sport they both had the 3 Spoke design. I found it a bit too chunky in the hands and the Silver trim a bit too much plastic.....

But I am missing a M Sport Logo

Must be an error. Surely MSport steering wheel has always been and continues to be part of UK MSport spec ?

What the hell? That has to be an accident or a shortage of stock that they thought you may not notice. It should definitely have the M Sport wheel. I guess if you aren't happy, its easily rectified though.

Funnily enough I changed my mind about what colour to go for when I had originally ordered the car. Somebody in the dealership forgot to cancel the original order so they have another High Spec G31 sat in the showroom when I went to collect mine.....it was my original ordered colour.

Anyway it also had the SE spec wheel.

So maybe there is a shortage of M Sport Steering Wheels?

I have Steering Wheel Heating and Adaptive Cruise so maybe this is why.

That is really strange, but why don't you give them a call and check what is happening?

What is your full spec? I wonder whether they messed up how they built the order at dealers end.

I am pretty certain Adaptive Cruise & heating works with M Sport steering wheel on G31 as I have it on my F32.

adaptive certianly compatible with the msport steering wheel.

can you post up a picture?

as otehrs have said. If you want the msport steering wheel, then take it up with the dealer, it may simply be a mistake at the factory - as unlikely as that is.
If you're happy with the wheel you've got, then fine.

Are you sure your car is an M Sport?

We will need a photo of the car to verify that

Indeed, it is not a Sportline? That one has the regular sport steering wheel.

Easy to tell from the front.

EDIT: seems like in the UK they don't have the 'sportline'. Either SE or M-sport.

I think it will affect resale slightly. Most people will want the MSport wheel.

Only something to worry about if its not a PCP/lease car that he can just hand back. But true - an M sport buyer will likely want an M sport wheel.

Ok guys had 5mins to upload some quick photos for you to see.

As you can see it has M Sport Bumper, M Sport Blue Brakes, M Sport Badges on sides, Trapezoidal Exhausts and............. Hard Suspension

So I presume it is an M Sport which I ordered.

Nope - that's not an M Sport wheel...

I just checked on the photo galleries in these forums, but am unable to upload photos from my phone.

Damn - one for the dealer to sort out! I know from previous posts you seriously-spec your cars so I feel for you!

Kinda worried about my 530i that's on order, now...

Interesting. I always wanted the MSport wheel (and have it on my current car) but this one looks very nice. But, of course, I can't tell feel from a picture.

I'm pretty sure your car is as ordered. Easy to check with VIN anyway.

That's clearly wrong as he ordered an M Sport which includes M Sport steering wheel, and didn't receive it.

NSA - put the last 7 digits of your VIN in here http://bimmer.work/ and see if it has

"710 - M Leather Steering Wheel - M Lederlenkrad"

If it doesn't, then perhaps the dealer messed up. If it does, then the factory messed up because that is not the 710 steering wheel.

I checked my VIN (already assembled) and 710 is on there. I asked a Genius to confirm and he said 100% my car has the M Sport steering wheel but that isn't worth much as he can't physically see it

I ask the question, how can an M-sport have the SE steering wheel?

Is there some way to 'delete' the M-sport steering wheel at order?

That's the million dollar question! It's not a customer selectable option, like the m sport suspension deletion. Not sure if the dealer has some higher level ability to change these things.
