Bimmercode - Tailgate Close?

I've seen several posts about coding the tailgate module to CLOSE (default is open only) using remote or cabin button. There seems to be success using Esys and newer versions of Bimmercode. What I haven't been able to decipher is whether or not this is generically available across G30 models.

I'm using Bimmercode + OBDLinkMX+ on a 2017 540i xD and can't locate the coding option for tailgate module. So, questions....

- can anyone confirm this has worked in a 2017 G30?
- Which option code should I be looking for?
- does this require Advanced mode in Bimmercode?

Thanks as always
/Jad

My car is a Europe model and both door button and key button do both (open/close) functions by default.

Bimmercode also has this adjustments in easy mode. Did you check them all? You should see them as the default button function under which options are: when pressed open/close/open&close.

Just check every section in easy mode (probably under Main Body Control Unit).

Checked again but no luck. I saw mentions of TRUNK in advanced coding but couldn't tell exactly which parameters would need to be toggled.

The demo code shows a TAILGATE MODULE, but that doesn't show when I'm connected to my vehicle. :

I'll let you know what module it's located in when I get my car back from the dealership on Friday. I'm going to have to recode my car after the software update anyway

I have it done in mine. I'm out of town until Tuesday but will look. I had to re code everything again after my update for rear camera last month. The apps support team is pretty quick to respond if you contact them.

The close feature was already coded from the factory (door button only). But I managed to make these changes in HKFM2 ECU.

Close Tailgate with button in the driver door without long press. To Active.
Close tailgate with button on remote without long press. To Active.
Tailgate function remote control. To Open and Close.

I coded my vehicle only to find out it already did that from the factory. Same with the windows going down & sunroof open/close.

I tried coding this on a MY17 G30 540i. It can't be done because I don't have the motor to close the trunk, just the popper to open it. After doing some research I found out that some cars didn't have it installed because they ran out at the factory due to supply. Most likely COVID. So, I have to purchase a retrofit kit.
