Depends on the car, but the F13 has 5 substrates...from CF to steel.

Yep. I'd say the doors were almost brittle! I suspect carbon fiber or some variant. Interesting... I wonder how well they would hold up to door dings? Or would they simply crack.

I'm surprised is by the way a golf club goes thru the MB door and a sledge hammer barely dings the door on the M6. Wow!!!! Deep pockets!!! Very deep pockets!!!!

Destroying a car that you paid for? I'm not sure who has the last laugh...

Maybe he's looking for a viral social shaming of Mercedes? I'm guessing they don't have lemon laws over there?

At least this will show people that car doors don't stop bullets. The more ya know. lol

Bottom line is that it's easier to get a refund from a scammer than a good service from a stealership. What a nightmare with these guys. I have bought several cars throughout the years and I have had only one good experience. That's when I bought the car from my friend. What's worst than relying on a car salesman? Relying on his boss!!!! There is an obvious reason why they are called "Stealerships"!!!! The only thing that I know that they are good at is making money and they make a bunch of it!!! I'm not saying that they do it in a professional way!!!! I'm only saying....

Just like any other profession there are good and bad and I can only imagine the stories they have about what customers try to do or get past them.

I can say almost unequivocally the door is not made of carbon fiber. I've worked with carbon fiber as part of my undergrad engineering studies. We had to create parts like I beams out of carbon fiber and then we put them on machines like an Instron tensile tester to push them to failure. When carbon fiber breaks, you'll see the fiber strands on the edges of the failure point. You don't see that in the video. Especially when the golf club was stuck in the door and he hand to wiggle it out.

Aside from the materials discussion, it's sad these people don't have the intelligence to match their wallets. Yeah, you showed the dealership or manufacturer by destroying a car you paid money on. Idiots.

More than thoroughly impressed by the strength of the glass... a little shocked at the panels just being gutted with holes like that.

I just had a brand new one at my shop, the whole exterior is aluminum (or some sort of mix). A magnet won't stick to anything in the trunk except the lift arms for the lid.

That had to be staged??? Nobody came out of the store yelling at him. No cop showed up. Nobody on the sidewalk said a word. The whole thing just is a bit too "Taylor Coleridge" for me.

All the best.

this sort a thing happens all the time. Instead of destroying the car why not just take the dealership to court?

It does. Why not beat up the sa car not your own. Take the loaner home and pull the motor return after hours with no engine.
