It's what I usually do - stop the car then engine off with the footbrake still on until it hops into Park then exit. Maybe there's a timing issue between the brake pedal and the engine off button and it depends just how quick you are off the brake. I'll see. Not that it's a very major concern of course, just interested . |

Hi, I have two issues I would like to ask for some advice. I have 520d Touring xDrive G31.
1) I noticed on the driver's side doors I have some kind of shake/noise when going on uneven surface slow or fast. It feels as if doors were not fully locked when closed. I would guess that this gentle yet annoying shake resulting in the seals squeeking rubbing noise is caused by doors jittering slightly verticaly. I tried to pull the doors inward while driving to see if this would stop but to no effect. Also there is some wind noise coming from the bottom of the doors and maybe from the top side too, but will try to pay more attention to this next time I'm using the car. I didn't get to check it on the passangers side as I'm the only person driving this car. I am also aware of some wind noise coming from side mirror area in case I was mistaking that for what I believe I can hear. The door seem to be closed and locked properly and yet it feels its shaking in some manner. 2) The wipers - so if I go one click up it goes into automatic mode. And there is no "standard" delayed mode, where the wipers move every few seconds. Instead it sort of regulates itself as needed. However I noticed few time, once in very heavy downpoor and today in light to mild rainfall that initialy the wipers start moving at certain speed and after a while the might speed up to level that is not necessary. Is there anyway to either fix that or maybe set up a different mode? I used the little adjuster but it's either very slow or just goes super fast after a while. Thanks |

6+ months since I got my 530i and happy to report, no quality control issues to speak of. Very happy with the car and looks and feels solid as a premium German sedan should.

If your door seals are making a noise as the car body flexes ( ie going bumps etc) put gummifledge on the rubber.
Used it on the e39 and f10 and it makes the problem go away. Haven't had to use it for the g30 though. Bmw used to sell this with their badge on but don't believe they do now but you can find it own. Make sure you don't get any wax or polish on the metal that is in contact with your rubber door seals and also don't use silicon. |

My G31 has a damp smell in the car at the moment, I think it's coming from the sunroof and seems to be worse if after opening the sunroof or if I slide back the inside cover for the roof.
Has anyone seen or heard this before? |

My 520d xDrive has been to the dealer 5 times now for vibrations on the highway at 110-130km/h.. They have done several road force balances, tests etc with numerous experts involved... They can't find the cause so next step is a buy back. I'm sick of this car, it's like all of the issues I had with my F10s all over again 💩🤪🤬

One more thing I noticed sometimes when I get into the car there is some kind of mechanical screetch. It's hard to describe something like pump noise for a sec or two, I thought it was handbrake or some pedal filling up I don't know. It feels like it's coming from underneath the steering wheel area, anyone experienced something like that ? It happens once in a while. At first I thought it would occur when I put my foot on the brake, but today I just got in and it made the noise.

*Headlight level adjustment as the dealer has mentioned. I have the Adaptive Icon LEDs *The grille flaps opening but doubt it as flaps should be closed on cold day. Guess will see if happens during the winter months *Ventilation flaps internally opening? Can't think of anything else. |

issues experienced to date:
- occasionally the drivers side wiper leaves the screen and hits the A pillar - inadvertent operation of boot open function of fob. Can this function be switched off? - sat nav occasionally does not recognise postcodes and takes me to the wrong place. this fault is noticed when sat nav suggests two locations for the same postcode, i often resort to entering street names instead. awaiting a update from Puma to solve this (been waiting over a year) |

It doesn't rain a lot in greater Phoenix but we had a storm the other day and I noticed the same effect that in rain sense mode it started slowly, then picked up if the rain increased. But what I found was that once it speeded up, it didn't want to slow back down when the rain slowed down. I had to turn it off and back on to get a slower speed. Anyone else find this? |

The windshield wiper stalk has graduated lines to adjust the sensitivity of the wipers. Try using them.

I had exactly the same issue. Reversed car into a space in multi-story car park. Locked car as I walked away, and slipped keys into my pocket. Tailgate opened and hit rear wall of car park and damaged the paint on the bottom edge of the tailgate... I have had 3 other BMW Touring in the past, and none have ever done this before, so assume the key fob is more sensitive?
