I don't there is a tire out there on these 20's that can take a good pot hole. When you hit it, it makes your teeth chatter.

But I love the looks of them and Tirerack has excellent roadhazard so its really only the inconvenience factor.

Uhh, it really sucks to hear that man. Im really considering 7 series size tires 245 40 front and 275 35 rear. Many fellow members run that setup and have reported positive feedbacks.

As an update, I LOATHE Goodyear RF tires. I've had my car for three months and replaced the driver front tire twice due to these bubbles. I paid $567 for each tire and now they are on a shortage. I see many recommending Michelin tires but what about 20" Pirellis? Any feedback?

Cut your losses, dump the Goodyears (they suck) and get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3ZP. Excellent tire. Fantastic ride quality for a RFT, quiet and wear has been incredible for me. I've got 22K miles and still on my original set. For me, never has a staggered rear RFT on my previous BMWs last more than 18K miles. This rear should last 25K+.

good thing to consider. How do the 3ZP's handle potholes? Any improvements than these trashy goodyears?

I highly suggest increasing the sidewall by 5% front and rear. 245/40/20 fronts and 275/35/20 rears, it will give you extra rubber like having 19" wheels. Make sure you use the recommended air pressure as if you had 19" wheels on your idrive or you will have uneven tire wear. It will wear out the center of the tires & you will still get a bulge with higher air pressure if you hit a pothole hard enough.

Exactly what I did. I now have 40K on my M550, still on the original set of Michelin PS3ZP's which replaced the original Goodyear RFs at about 10K miles. Unbelievable wear so far.
