G30 LCI without CD player !
Hi,
It appears that USB drive has taken over the single CD player which G30 used to have. Mp3 sounds lose out to CDs, anyone has a good suggestion how to put back a CD player in a nice position ? Which brand CD player can you recommend? Thanks in advance..

CD player was removed in MY2020+
Using a USB drive, iPod, Spotify, CarPlay, Bluetooth, etc is expected now. I theory it could be added back as the drive is sold on the car in some countries. But likely not worth the hassle. |

As for me i'm using HD streaming (Qobuz), there's Tidal too and more services are starting to offer "hd" (= at least CD quality)

Just put .wav or lossless wma on a usb drive
Lossless wma will obviously maintain full cd quality and retains metadata images if that is of interest Agree though it's a penny pinching excercise, maybe bmw feel cds are old fashioned? I disagree and they have a lot to offer , other than the sound quality, should last a lifetime Rant coming up!,why is it that consumers typically always pick the worst technology standard? Conventional tv versus trinitron VHS versus Betamax Type 1. Cassette versus type 2 or 4 MP3 versus cd LCD versus plasma/ oled |
