Sensor behind the rearview mirror

First off I'm not sure this is the right sub forum for this question but I figured it was close enough...

I've noticed what looks like a sensor on the back of the rearview mirror, on the passenger (right) side. Anyone know what this is? Auto high beam assist maybe? Because with the Hollywood-level studio's worth of cameras on this car, I fail to see what this dinky looking sensor is all about...

Reason I'm asking is because I usually put my dash cam right there, in front of the rearview; I've been going without it now trying to figure out if I can safely block it or not, and I'll be damned no one seems to know the answer to this!

Thanks!

Sounds like the sensor for the anti dazzle of the rear view mirror.

RLS (Rain Light Sensor). It is used to determine when headlamps turn on as well as control windshield wipers.

These are Driver Assist Cameras (central):

The small square on passenger side on back of mirror is RLS.

The small white square on the back of the mirror is one of the photocells for the auto dimming functionality, there is also one in the front. Together they check the light behind and in front of the vehicle and use it for the rearview and side mirror(s). The camera at the bottom of the assembly (not the mirror itself) is for the auto high beam / anti dazzle system, and the one “in” the windshield is the eye used for the automatic wipers, headlamp control, and checking for condensation (the RLS as you said).
