You are missing the point!
The angel eyes were ORIGINAL, UNIQUE! So unique and distinct that everyone started to copy them.

What we see today is not unique. Skoda front and Honda rear?
And you call it a BMW?

That is a good point.

I'd always read that BMW moves away from the actual iconic dual round coronas as VW Passat and others had copied.

However whilst I'm no BMW design hater the new connected grill looks very much like we/BMW are copying Skoda.

A return to the last appeals more currently.

That has nothing to do with my statement. The discussion was about HERITAGE.

It's possible that the Skoda influence came from Jozef Kaban

Who was BMW design chief from 2017 to 2019 (and has now left as far as I know). He spent 30 years with Skoda designing cars..

Fingers crossed the new headlights don't become a permanent feature of BMW's. That said, the latest photo of the car head on looks very nice indeed.

Totally agree with you. Angel eyes were totally unique and could always tell it was BMW. Now becoming more like every other car. Too bad.

That picture from the brochure looks amazing. It reminds me a lot of the 7 series... eh the James Bond one. The last pretty one. This design would make a great and elegant 7 series, a worthy successor to that one.

Lol at people posting photos of their 10 year old 5 series and saying it’s the best looking. Cognitive bias in full effect.

The LCI looks great. As with every update, all non LCI will look dated the second this thing hits the road. And most buyers who recently got a smokin’ deal and that 2019 will say “I actually prefer the headlights on mine.”

Rinse and repeat.

Are you referring to my post of my 2011 F10

Nothing wrong with me liking an old model. If you read posts here, people are split between yay and nay

In fact if you ask me about the 5 series, the crown of best look would go to the E39. Just keep in mind I'm talking about the look

Personally, the 5 series is out of my consideration at all. If I need something for this purpose like family thing, I would go the X5 route, looks way better but I'm not in the situation now and I do have already an M340 and the X6 is to be built upon factor reopening.

Before you fire back let me

The g30 was never a good looking car. Newer designs doesn't mean better...

Yes, the E39 was the best looking 5 ever and the F10 came close. The G30 is clearly less balanced and the LCI is not an improvement it seems.

True. The new 3 is nice though. The 5 just looks awkward.

So designs like E30, E46, E39 look dated to you? Lol

Let me guess, you’re a G30 owner and prefer the pre-LCI headlights.

The new A6 C8 had a much more aggressive design than the M Sport pre lci... now it's not the case anymore!
In the picture we can see the top headlights, standard it might be the possibility to have the "traditional" / oudated / so boring in this modern times "angel eyes" 😂

I don't know why the fuck BMW changed the angel eyes so much. NO BODY in auto industry had that design. When you saw 4 o rings in headlights from far away, you knew it was BMW. Screw you BMW!!!

Angel eyes are done. The base headlight for the G30 LCI will be similar to the base headlight on the G20 - the two specs/bars.

Every heritage starts somewhere. The angel eyes are already a heritage. Or a distinctive unique feature if you would like.
Either way, they are a different interpretation of the two round headlamps that became a signature since late 60's.
