I have a BMW G30 with id7, and I love it, i'm interested in upgrading the oem screen with wireless apple carplay and android auto, i have read a lot about how to activate BMW carplay but i prefer this:

the other reason i prefer this android box is it has aftermarket navigation, so i don't need to pay a high price for my original maps update every time.

This is just another MMI type device. Audio is fed through AUX. Since you have ID7 then you already have Carplay and Android Auto and I do not really see a reason to install this.
