Weird key issue after picking my car up from the dealer. I get in the car and the dash gives me a warning that the battery in the clicker is missing. Car starts just fine with no issues. I haven't held the key next to the steering column... yet. I just need to remember to do it

No, but I did test it with a battery tester. Shows 80%+. The key still functions flawlessly. I held it in the special place, next to the steering column... no difference.

I have a problem with one remote control, it simply has a very short range. I replaced the battery, but it didn't help.

Replaced the 80% battery with a new one... warning gone.

Smart move. Battery testers that give percentage results are useless. Get a multimeter and measure the actual voltage. If the battery approaches the rated voltage it likely needs to be replaced. Battery voltage dips when electronics place demand on the battery.

It didn't give a percentage, per se. It was a bar graph and i estimated 80%.
