Just drove 850kms from Sydney to the Gold Coast. CarPlay the whole way no issue. Jump back in the car after we arrived and CarPlay refuses to connect.

Rebooted phone. Let car sleep. Soft reset IDrive. Deleted and re-added phone. Wife’s phone won’t connect. It’s bizzare.

I noticed my CarPlay shortcut button would also not work so let the car sleep for 40minutes and that is working again. But no CarPlay.

Only thoughts are;
1) WiFi won’t activate so perhaps something has broken?
2) We are now in a different state and perhaps there is some location dependence?

Maybe it will wake up a tomorrow and work.

Next thought is reset connected drive which is a hassle.

I also checked and there is no expiry on CarPlay on the bmw site.

Spoke to BMW but that had no ideas beyond what I tried. Disconnected the battery and the issue is fixed. Super strange.
