Goodbye E92--hello 135i!

Well fellas, I took the plunge this weekend. I traded in my E92 328i and placed my order for a 135i (which is now in 112 status). Got the alpine white, premium package, sport package, manual tranny, and heated seats.

Test drove the demo 135i with the AT a few times over the weekend, and I have never had so much fun in a car. It felt slightly less confortable than my 3--not as plush so to speak. But the drive is out of this world! The brakes are unbeliveable, stopping power is so evident. And, even though I know the engines are identical, the 135 feels faster and more responsive. I also test drove a 335 coupe with ZSP to make sure I was getting an accurate comparison, and I really liked the feel of the 1 better. That might have something to do with the shorter wheelbase, but I was able to whip around turns so easily. I can't wait for it to get here!

And with the Dinan upgrade.....

Cheers!

Congrats!

Get a good deal trading in a car 1 year later? I have a feeling you took it in the pooper, and 135i's are pricey let alone a trade in?

What color interior/trim?

It wasn't as bad as I would have thought--got mats and a $500 discount off MSRP (which was a gift from above) and was less than 3K upside down on the trade in. I could have rolled that into the payment, but I said screw it and wrote a check. The E92 is certainly holding its value well! It would have been better if I would have slapped new tires on it, but I didn't want to mess with the trouble.

The MF was a bit salty but the residual was 59% @ 3yrs, 15k miles per year. Plus, by getting approved yesterday, I will be locked into those rates over the 6 weeks it takes to get the car. So if the programs are worse on April or May 1, I can stick with what I have. But if they are better (the MF might come down a little) then I will be able to use those instead.....

Black Dakota Leather with the High Gloss Black Trim--man it looks good in pics I have seen on the internet. I am really pumped....

Yep--I have been on E90post longer, because I have had 2 E92's now, but it is a great forum.

lol...328 was a great car. Just left me wanting more at the end of the day. Looked at the M3 but it was just out of my range....initially I was worried about the turbos and the random problems that people seemed to be having, but I have heard less about it lately, and the car is also under warranty...

The 3er in general is kinda big as well. I just wanted something a little smaller, faster, and better handling. I am quite sure that I have it coming to me.

I'm deliberating heading the same way soon (Fall ED/PCD)

I'll go with AW/Black/Alu with ZSP, PDC, Sat. I'm also thinking of the Dinan tune

I really liked mine too.....but my dad recently got a Z4 M coupe, and after driving his for any extended period of time, my E92 just felt too tame. The E82, on the other hand, seems to be the best of both worlds. Not as plush as the 3, not as harsh as the M. Great performance, and produces a huge grin on my face.....

There is no debate, to me, that the 328i is a great car. It is. But I think if BMW had kept the power closer to that of the 330i (255 HP) then I might not have needed the upgrade.

I hear you on the shape. I must say I like it much better in person, and AW is far and away the best color on it that I have seen. The Sadona and Sapphire just looked somewhat plain to me, like it didn't highlight the areas of the car that I like. The AW seems to do that.

Even the front is growing on me....which I HATED in the beginning...
