Ceramic Coating: Single coat or Multiple?

My 540 MSport (Rhodonite Silver) is due in next month. I am having a full front PPF, Window Tint and Ceramic done immediately after delivery.
Do any of you have any recommendations on whether a single coat or multiple coats are appropriate?
My quoted prices are $980 for a Silver Ceramic Pro 9H (single coating) and $1980 for the Gold package (five coats).
I selected the detail shop, not the product. He uses Ceramic Pro. The PPF and Window Tint products are Suntek Ultra.
Obviously, spending less is better but if multiple coats actually makes the vehicle look better, I might pay for it. If a longer guarantee is the only benefit, that probably would not be worth it for me.
Thanks very much for all your advice.

I really love my 3M Crystalline window tint. Like you, I selected the shop because they were the only authorized 3M Crystalline dealer in Houston. They also offer Ceramic Pro; however, I have not done that yet.

Virtual,
Your 550 looks good. May I ask how you selected your tint strength?
And are those the 759 wheels? I ordered those also. How has your ride been?
Thanks
p.s. I am planning on buying my daughter an "Angry sounding" Mexican Telecaster if I can find a good one.

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, my wheels are the 759's. I chose this window tint level because I was sold on the 3M Crystalline series. It's available in 5%, 20%, 40%, and so on. The legal limit in Texas is 25% for the front windows, but I don't mind rolling the dice. It's never been a problem before. Whenever I need to get an inspection, I go to a BMW dealership who doesn't really care.

I chose 20% for the sides and back and 70% for the windshield so it would give me the most UV without changing the appearance of the glass. You can also get the windshield tint at 90%, but they're both so clear so that you can't really tell a difference in appearance. I chose 40% for the sunroof since it already has privacy glass at about 20% from the factory. This gives me an even look across the entire vehicle. I'm very happy with the results. I think it looks good.

As far as the ride is concerned, it's a very rough ride on the road if the surface is uneven or is very bumpy. I find myself having to slow down to a crawl anytime I see a pothole coming. In the event that you don't see one and you run over it, you can hear it and feel it and it. There's not very much tire on there. There's so much construction going on in Houston, the roads are very rough. On the highway it's fantastic. With all of that being said, I couldn't be happier with performance of this vehicle.

A telecaster is a good choice.

Ceramic or nothing. The numbers speak for themselves.

Are you leasing? The number of coats is more about durability as opposed to look. I am leasing and did the Silver (one coat) and it looks great and will last 5 years, which is beyond my lease term.

No, I am buying the vehicle.
Reference durability, that's what I thought. I plan to take good care of the car and will probably return to the shop every year for a refresh, so Silver is probably the way to go.
Virtual, thanks for the update on the ride. Makes sense. San Antonio has some rough roads as well so I will just have to be careful. Maybe watch the sharp turns so I don't "curb" the wheels.

Thanks. Drive safe.

Ceramic Coating: Single coat or Multiple?

I did the same thing 12 hours after receiving keys. I went with Gtechniq ultra. Full exterior and interior package Approximately 2k. Great shine easy to clean. The paint correction is key. You think being a brand new car it would be impeccable, wrong. Instruct your sales agent not to wash car at all. Rolled into my detail shop with sticky goo all over.

Getting Gold package for Ceramic coating on my 540ix I'm going to keep it for many years the extra coating will help in the long run and extra warranty is worth it. Thinking of tinting back windows too not sure at this point.
