I have to say (agreeing with others) that they have handled this really badly and unprofessionally. Mistakes can occur but its their attitude to how they deal and resolve it that matters.
To give you an example, a colleague of mine ordered a M2 and when he picked it up, he drove out of the dealership and immediately got a whole load of error messages relating to airbags. Turned out that the tracker that was fitted, they managed to break a cable within the wiring hardness. Took a few days to work out why it had occurred but in the meantime they had loaned him another M2 and kept him up to date on the matter. When he picked it up, they gave hiw wife flowers and the whole handover process as you would expect for a new car. they also stated that if there were any issues, they would buy the car back. So an unfortunate event caused by a third party fitting the tracker (but BMW were providing as it was part of the purchase as supplied by BMW) that ruined the new car experience but at least they keep him informed all the time what was happening and ensure that when he did finally pick it up, he got the new car experience as he should have done.(I'm sure there were heated word behind the scene between the dealership / BMW and the company fitting the tracker!) Anyway hope they resolve it to your requirements. |

Was talking to a mate of mine who drives a G30. When I mentioned this whole ordeal, his response was "I'd simply drive to the dealership, hand over my keys and say call me when you sort it out". In your case, I think you almost need something as drastic as that.
I really hope the salesman call you today. |

Let's see if your dealer sorts it out quicker than mine.

At first I thought that the SE wheel is nice looking but the fact that it is a bigger diameter than the M Sport is my main reason for changing to the correct wheel, which will hopefully make the steering a little quicker and give a bit more weight, because at the moment it does feel very light!
Also the rim is a little thin in the hands/fingers. |

Call back from dealer today. All sorted BMW agreed everything so they have to order ALL the parts.
He told me it is costing £3.5K+ to change the wheel as the car also needs coding to accept the new wheel! I really can't imagine this as no functionality is changing. I asked what about compensation for being messed about. He told me to speak directly with BMW UK. |

My dealership were flummoxed as to how this has happened and have have straight away said they will replace the steering wheel. They've take photos and are now liaising with BMW as it definitely isn't part of the Spec for that chassis no.

You should make representations about the car not being as ordered, the effort you put in (calls, mails and personal visits, etc) to get it resolved as the dealer effectively washed their hands and you had to do all the work, etc. Glad it is finally getting sorted! |
