No I am pretty sure they turn both ways. Just find a nice empty, dark street and start swerving from right to left and see how the lights work. Just make sure no one is around

I parked my car in front of a wall at night. I turned the headlight setting to "A" and turned the steering wheel to the right. The light turned with me. I then turned it back to the left and it turned with me until the center. My point is, it doesn't turn to the left. Do you mind trying it?

I've tried it and I think you need to take it in to the Dealer......my lights swing both right and left.

The manual states that the lights do not turn to the left if you are parked so as not to startle drivers facing you, like when you are standing at an intersection with your wheels turned to the left and waiting for opposing traffic to stop before you turn. So the lights will only turn to the left if the car is moving with sufficient speed. Pretty smart if you ask me.

Thanks a million, Silverado. Now I can go to sleep without the worry. The German engineers are actually very thoughtful and smart... but wait, does that mean the light will not swing to the right when parked, on UK models or Japanese model... you know, they drive on the left side of the road. (It won't turn to the right so as not to startle drivers facing you...)

The reason they don't swivel left is to avoid blinding the on-coming traffic if you have a left-hand drive car. Only at extreme steering angles will the active cornering lights swivel left.
