759 style rims on 530i question

I have a quick question I have 2017 530i and I bought the 759 style rims that came off a 540i. So I’m shopping for tires and this one company was like for the rears 275/30/20 wont be good due to the difference in load capacity from the 530 to the 540. They recommended getting 285/30/20 since that meets the load requirement. Anyone came across that issue or have any advice for me.

I'm confused. Why does a 530 need a bigger tire than a 540? What do the tires say abought load rating?

My gut says that the guy is full of it. But to know for sure we would have to know what tire you plan to use. Load rating can vary by tire brand and model.

And what are the 20" tire recommendations listed by BMW in your owners manual? Or does BMW not provide this information anymore? In the past, the tire sizes and load ratings where in the owner manual.

The guy was definitely full of it. I would stick with the original size. Here's what came with the 759i's on my M550i:

Front: 245/35R20 Fr Run-Flat
Rear: 275/30R20 Rr Run-Flat

Front 245/35 R20 Run Flat Pirelli PZERO
Rear 275/30 R20 Run Flat Pirelli PZERO

Yea when I called he was like do you have the 18's or 19's. I was like i got the OEM 20's that came off a 540i. He seemed pretty genuine though he wasn't trying to sell me different tires he asked what tires I was looking at and we stuck with those the whole time. And the price for the 275/30/20 were the same price as the 285. I was looking at the Michelin AS3+ All season standard tires

I'm going with the Michelin's myself. These Goodyear's that came with my wheels are crap. I already have five bubbles and one of the tires and it's just a matter of time.

At least you got the Pirelli's. I got the crappy Goodyear's - not for long though!
