Check Engine Light (CEL) and Night Vision False Alarms
Had our first below zero cold spell since getting my car. Check Engine light drivetrain malfunction showed up on startup. Took it in to the dealer, they are replacing the turbo wastegate. I've seen a few other posts about wastegate replacements, what is causing this issue on such new cars? Mine is less than 9 months old and < 9,000 miles.
While there, I mentioned that the Night Vision throws up pedestrian warnings while on the interstate, while there are clearly no people around. There was a software update for that. |

It's so cool, here is a cool pic of it on in Arches National Park over Christmas. This was at around 10pm after some star gazing. The sun had been out all day warming the rocks.

I get random night vision alerts from time to time, bad part is you start to ignore them. Need to ask about the software next time I'm at the dealer.

I don't get many false alerts. When I do it's because I'm driving behind a transit bus and the vertical exhaust, which is partially shielded, tricks the system into thinking it's a person on the road. The first time it happened to me was on a bridge going over a lake with driving wind and rain. It scared the $h!T out of me.
