Mobile check deposit

How many of you use this? Looks like it deposits as fast as going to the bank now. Anyone who still does that is living under a rock especially in these challenging times.

Use it all the time, a great time saver. But I wouldn't be surprised if banks started to charge a fee for this convenience. When ATM's were first introduced they were promoted as a great convenience for the customer and a money saver for the banks because they wouldn't need as many tellers. Then they realized they could charge for this convenience...

You must not have kids that have been home for four months:
1) good excuse to go somewhere
2) drive thru bank
3) cool little canister that flies through a translucent tube
4) lollipop

Oh they are home but at 19 and almost 21, the canister and tube at drive-up window have long lost it's appeal. Lollipops? They would rather go have a few beers (more likely White Claws!) with friends!

I haven't seen the canister thing in years. The drive through just has electronic ATMs.

My own bank doesn't charge me but if I go to another bank's machine I get charged. Extremely rare that I get charged these days but it's still out.

I actually don't get charged if I go to another banks atm anymore. My banks fee is waived and they refund me the other banks atm fee otherwise it costs $5.50 or more per transaction.

^ Yup, have been doing this for years with WF. Also, I can't even remember the last time I wrote a check.

The last time I used a manual check someone stole it and washed it then forged it in their name and changed the amount. I had to report it and get a new bank account so all my linked ebills had to be transferred over and I had to get new credit cards. Real PITA.

Unfortunately one of my main clients is old and only writes checks. So I was using the mobile check deposit thing all the time. Fortunately/unfortunately the checks are now just above the maximum deposit amount for mobile. So I have to go to the stupid machine every month to deposit his check. Which I don't understand, because I use the ATM to deposit which I'm sure does the exact same thing as the mobile deposit.

The tube I don't even remember how long it's been since I used that. Same with writing checks.

Although I rarely receive physical checks anymore I always use the mobile deposit feature and love it.

I use the mobile deposit thing on my phone all the time. Dunno why, but I won't deposit checks in the ATM. Weird right?

I did recently have to go to the bank, and waited for 2 hours in my car to use the drive up teller service because the lobbies are closed. THAT was a mess.

i never use checks either, but i got a refund from my insurance in check form. tried using the mobile deposit thing but kept getting errors. i think its a problem with my banks app.

had to swing by the bank on my lunch break today. Used the canister thing... so cool.

Yes, the only checks I am depositing are invariably a refund from the doctor's office or hospital which over charged me (for my diabetic son) and is refunding some portion of copay or I have met my deductible so the refund some portion of a a prior bill. It's not like I'm getting a bunch of personal checks in for stuff.

Doing this forever. Who walks into a bank unless you need a real big cash withdrawal? On some occasions when i've done that (to pay for car services or parts FBI) i only see like poor or elderly folks.

Last time I walked into my credit union it was to refinance my mortgage and that was three years ago.
