Mostly a cosmetic upgrade if you already have m sport brakes. The larger discs translate to a bit more sensitive pedal which I like. The dimples do make a whirring noise though when the brakes are not being applied. I don't mind it but some would.

The red M brake calipers are made by Brembo. Not sure of the standard or blue brake calipers. They are larger.

The thing is, OE brake calipers are still built to a production spec regardless of the manufacturer. There's nothing special about "Brembo" OE calipers other than the branding. They're not monoblocs, they aren't FEA-designed like true race calipers. They are pretty, though.

And this is coming from someone who spent the $3k+ to get the M performance brake kit on my M550. Know what you are paying for.

That is very true. I had a Shelby with Brembo brakes on them. The back part of the calipers was imprinted with FOMOCO…..not the full on Brembo racing caliper.
