Stuck in Quality Check

I finally got an updated status today on my 2021 M550.
After being stuck in Quality Check status since 6/17 it has now updated to Awaiting Carrier Assignment this morning.

The car has been sitting for almost 3 month without moving are you worried about the tires?

Cars sit at dealers for longer than 3 months. BMW over inflates the tires during transport period to help avoid flat spots. That said, if you're buying one that's been sitting, definitely take it on a good road test and reach Highway speed for a few miles.

1. Have taken delivery of your car yet?
2. Had stop sales when it reached the port?
3. Had item delete from you build?

My car arrived at Baltimore port a little over a week ago.
My client advisor told me there is a stop sale for retrofitting the cameras because the plant is shipping them all out without them.
I have no idea why it sat in quality check for 3 months just to get shipped over and still have a delay for missing parts.
I am only aware of one option that was removed after I initially placed my order back in April which is the hands free trunk.

It sucks to see you're still waiting on a MY21. I figured the 21s had to have been delivered by now, if not in the month of September.

Update: According to https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app the stop sale on retrofitting the cameras is complete, so it took about 2 weeks after arriving at the United States port to fix the cameras which isn't as bad as I was expecting.

Hey Nosnow,
I'm very sorry for the late reply, I saw your message as well.

My car finally arrived at the dealer on Friday and I just took delivery a couple of days ago on Saturday.
Thankfully no stop sale and no items deleted.

My 21 arrived last Thursday and took delivery of it Yesterday. They deleted the auto trunk opener. It still powers open and closed thankfully - just doesn't have the kick to open feature.

Given the fact that they deleted the park assistant plus ( and the 360 cameras) from all but the high end cars, I assume that's what caused the hold ups.

Kick open trunk is kind of meh anyway. Not a feature I would miss.

The kick open trunk option is only "meh" when you don't have it. Lol

Hope they work it out and bring it back. Along with wider availability of Park Assist plus.

My theory is that I can buy the sensor when it becomes available again and retrofit it, I'm assuming there was no change to the car's wiring harness since it was deleted during the build.

My bet is the wiring is also deleted. BMW has been custom making harnesses for each vehicle order for more than a decade now.

Took Delivery of the car on Friday.
It had a stop sales that was complete quickly at at the VPC
Only the kick start was deleted

I love the hands free trunk and will miss it. However, I knew it would be deleted so it is not a deal breaker. What WOULD be a deal breaker would be loss of the 360 camera or the touch screen like some models are faced with.

Apparently I am not getting the $100 trunk credit. It is not on my build sheet even though it was on the configurator. Not a big deal.
