I has its own thread. Most folks here loved it, me among them. A great story, well told.

Seeing that led me off into some other good ones:

24 Hour War

Senna

I also plan to watch Drive to Survive when I get a chance.

Haven't watched Drive to Survive yet but I'll have a look. The other 2 you mentioned are both great. Check out Shelby American too.

Finally watched Joker. I thought it was very good and Joaquin Phoenix was outstanding. I don’t think anyone else could play it quite like he did.

Funny, that's what they said about Nicholson, Ledger and now Phoenix. Leto must be sooooo pissed.

So had a interesting convo with the wifey this evening as we just finished watching Hustlers on 4k. She asked "hmmmmm why did we pick this up on 4k?" I said "because it was on sale?" She replied " Bull effing shit you wanted to see JLO's a$$ in 4k!" I'm not gonna lie...it looked FANTASTIC! well worth the argument

We watched The Report on Amazon Prime and The Two Popes on Netflix recently. Both were pretty good. Not “go to the movie theatre” good... but “free since I already paid for the subscription” good.

We don't go to the theatre very often anymore. When I lived in the city we could walk to two really good movie theatres and there were a bunch more within about 5-10 minter drives.....now it's about 30+ minutes in the car. We tend to stay in and enjoy our pretty decent home theatre, stuff that I want to see on the really big screen we will go to, the rest of it is usually available for home theatre consumption pretty fast.

Same here. Takes a lot to get me to a movie theatre.

Watched several movies this weekend. Joker, once upon a time in Hollywood, ready or not, and ad astra. Really liked once up a time just bit slow but cracked me up. Ad astra and joker were sokod but ready or it sucked. Oh and the lighthouse was dumb also.

We saw Joker and Downton Abbey over the weekend.

I'm not sure what the fuss was over Joker. I thought it was very mediocre. My wife completely hated it.

Downton Abbey was a relaxing watch.

We don’t go to the theater anymore but do make exceptions. Yesterday we went to see 1917. It was quite good but not great and one of those better seen on the big screen and it was a theater with cushy recliners, Dolby sound and picture which definitely enhances a film like this. I could see this easily winning the Oscar for cinematography at least.

Joker is next on the list to watch. Even more curious about the film now that it’s nominated for like, what, 10 Oscars?
