Windshield Wiper Blade Repacement

I just replaced the windshield wiper blades on my 540 for the first time. You need to apply some force to remove the blades from the arms. I found it hard to get leverage on the passenger side blade because it sits in the middle of the windshield and you have to reach over the hood of the car to get to it. Is there some trick to this to make it easier?

Did you first put wipers in service position? Far easier to work on when not hidden behind hood.

Yes-straight up in service position. You need to push the little button in and pull up. Hard to do when you are stretched out over the hood

With the car in standby mode press the windshield wiper lever all the way down and hold it. The windshield wipers will go back and forth once or twice and then eventually stop in a vertical position.

There should be a description of this in the owners manual and I believe there also are some YouTube's which depict the process.
