G30 Facelift/LCI- when?

Would G30 facelift/LCI be available to buy by the end of 2020?

I think lci is after 4 years assuming a 7 year run so my guess 2021. But that's just my guess - what do I know?!

Updated engines will be out in 2019, not sure if that will be same time as LCI or whether they will update the engines and then do LCI the following year

I am contemplating upgrading to G30 530D MSport . The reviews so far prefers it to 540i regarding driving experience. I am wondering whether I should wait for LCI or not. It also makes better financial sense to wait.

Personally, I prefer the additional power of the straight six. What will come with the LCI is all speculation at this point. It may deliver must haves or opportunity to grab pre-lci at great price.

My guess would be LCI from 07/2020.

OP is from UK. The 530d there is an inline 6. That is the engine we will get in the US 540d

You need to take reviewer opinions for what they are - opinions. You need to drive both really and decide for yourself.

Some of these same reviewers also prefer the E Class to the G30 overall, so what they are looking for and what you are looking for could be very different.

How long have you had your 520d?

520d is only 10 month old.
I am unlikely to change now.

I would really like to like E-Class because E43 AMG has so nice engine/exhaust sound note, but I just can't

Speaking of that - BMW could really learn from Benz how petrol cars with 300+ hp should sound!

The E43 AMG is a great car, but a bit too expensive. It would be a lot more compelling if it was $8K or so less than they're asking for it. Also, those cars are rare for some reason, and it's hard to get meaningful discounts on them.
