[Warp Ten]

Posted this yesterday on the other forum; hoping for some ideas here:

Odd thing yesterday. I was in my garage unloading some groceries from my 2019 540xi. I had left the key fob in the kitchen so it was not affecting anything. When I had the passenger side door open and was lifting a bag out, the headlights/taillights suddenly flashed on, then off. Then it happened a second time. The car didn't lock and the mirrors didn't fold in, so not in locking mode. Very weird. Went inside and got the key. I locked it (the headlights flashed and the mirrors folded in) then unlocked it and left it (normally unlocked in my garage). Have not noticed it happening again but I have also not been camping in the garage. Battery seems fine and is not too old. I will report if it happens again but for now wondering if anyone has an idea on why this might occur. --Bob


Update: Happened again today. Also full dash lit up including Welcome screen and interior blue lighting. Had to push the radio knob to shut the dash down but the blue interior lighting stayed on a while. Sounds like some small motor like noises under the hood but couldn't pinpoint it. Strange. I guess I will head for the dealer next week to see if they have any ideas. I'll have them load test the battery just in case. --Bob

I've had this happen a couple years ago, dealer replaced the light switch. Started up again so I'm wondering if this is going to be a normal thing after 2-3 years.
