It depends on current firmware in the car.
Up to NBTEVO_O is possible. Anything after requires ENET CABLE.

I am new to this community, bought my first BMW only recently (G31, 540i xDrive). One of the things I am missing is AppleCarPlay. My car only has Business Navi (not Professional) - can I activate ACP via USB stick as well?

Not sure if this has been asked before (tried searching), but when I code via BimmerCode it says that I need to go back to stock first (no CarPlay coding), so does that mean that I have to remove the CarPlay coding everytime I want to change an option via BimmerCode...? Or do the two just not work together..?

EDIT: should probably say I am on version V with ENET..

You can't use bimmercode once you get not original carplay.
Esys will work after Carplay activation.

But I'm fairly new on here, so I can't send you a PM. I have a 2018 540i with the NBTevo_V20153l but my CarPlay is active as the previous owner paid for it. So that's working. Just not the fullscreen.

Also, I have the Map North America Evo 2017-2. I could definitely use your help and expertise to update.

I have a 2017 G31 which is still under warranty and therefore I guess the local BMW dealership might opt to update the software on the car, assuming it's something they can charge BMW under the car's warranty - just my guess.

I have contacted Kubax86 who was very helpful and informative. The good news it looks straight-forward to install Carplay with fullscreen on my G31.

My concern is what to do when I need to take the car to the dealership? There are lots of references of reverting back to OEM etc. Is reverting back to OEM as simple as install Carplay with fullscreen via an ENET cable in the first instance?

I appreciate there's always a possibility of something going wrong and it looks like Kubax86 would be on hand to help if that situation did arise.

If anyone has installed Carplay, I would like to hear about your experience of preparing the car for a dealership visit.

Well we always back up our customers so shouldn't be any issue.

Whats the fastest way to enable disable Carplay full screen.
I dont like that the mod complitely removes the option to use carplay eith splitscreen. It is usefull for some apps but not for every situation.
Maybe there is a possibility to create usb that revereses the mod?

It can be restored both enet and usb method
