M550i Steering rack

Does anyone know if the steering rack on the M550i can be upgraded to the M5 rack? I really don't like the ratio or feel on the M550i. The laziness drives me nuts, I'm looking for something more direct. Thanks

I am by no means an expert, but I suspect that the subframe is different on the M5, so no, it won't fit.

The "real" M cars have a whole crap-ton of different stuff down there that we never see. It's not just badges and a tune.
