Do you use gesture control Poll?

I had to turn off gesture control. I have it set to navigate home. Works great, too great. Problem is I talk with my hands when there are passengers aboard, and frequently the system would activate the nav home when I didn't want. Boo, it's too much of just a fancy parlour trick to be useful.

Also, when I wanted to show off the volume control to amaze passengers, it usually doesn't work. So, I just look like an idiot (which I am, but I don't need proof). Thanks BMW.

It works well for me with about 90% accuracy and very rarely accidentaly triggered.
When I first got the car, I thought I'd never use it. Even called it a gimmick when the sales rep was pitching the function me lol
You need to give it a try for a week at least and then decide if you want to completely disable it. I think BMW did a pretty good job with the implementation of the feature.

I have the two finger option programmed to turn off/on the idrive control display. I use that all the time.

The only other one I use is the volume control once in a while.

I use the two finger gesture (the customisable one) programmed to "Nav guide me home" shortcut- Handy If I'm in a location I don't know well - it immediately sorts me a route home. I use the vol gesture a bit.
As for the headup display, I love it.

I taped over the gesture control sensor so it'd stop setting off the laser detector on my Valentine 1.

While I was working on turning off gesture control and then finding out it doesn't turn off the IR sensors in the roof pod (so my V1 was alerting a laser warning constantly), I made several gestures. Several.
