Minimum Required Coding Through ESYS or Bimmercode to activate VLD?

After reading too many posts on this topic over the various forums I’m still not sure what minimum process is required to activate Variable Light Distribution (VLD) for Icon LED low beams. So, for Variable Light Distribution (VLD) ONLY, not Non-Glare High Beam Assist:
  1. Will removing the 8S4 VLD Decoding option from the Vehicle Order (VO) with BMW ESYS software activate the Variable Light Distribution?

  2. WITHOUT removing 8S4 VLD Decoding with ESYS, can you activate Variable Light Distribution using Bimmercode Expert Mode to change the values for “ LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y “ and “ C_AFS_ENA “?
NOTES:
  • Car has I-Level S15A-20-3-532 installed.
  • Car has Icon Adaptive LEDs.
  • My preference is to use Bimmercode instead of ESYS and an ENET cable because I’ve read conflicting things on whether you can use ESYS or ESYSX on a Mac using Parallels or another Virtual Machine running Windows. I have a Windows laptop with an ethernet port for the ENET cable if that is required.

Either option would work. I coded my G01 by just changing the 2 individual values. On my G30, I removed 8S4, and VO Coded using Esys. Both ways should provide the same result.

I have tried for several days to get VLD coding using ESYS/ENET by VO coding and so far nothing appears to have changed. Code BODY and KAFAS. Ideas?
