You're buying a 530e? Be sure to grt an extended warranty or plan to sell it before end of warranty. These cars have far too many electronic modules and the "e" versions are just way more complicated. Repair bills will be off the charts if you have to pay for post warranty repairs.

And on a purchase, I'd recommend buying the maintenance upgrade because if you don't at time of purchase your extension options later are poor by comparison.

I would have purchased them as a no-brainer if they were like Mercedes-Benz which is 100% refundable if they aren't used (meaning your extended warranty is 100% refundable if your new car warranty is still in effect). But since they aren't it seems much more sensible to me to wait a bit. As something as simple as the car being totaled in a crash or traded for something else in the first 4 years could wash that money down the drain. I have been eying the prepaid maintenance just because of my annoyance with service price creep on my MB, but I will likely not commit to this until near when the free maintenance is up for expiration. As upgrading on Day 1 would only add Wiper Blades and Brakes to my list of covered items. The biggest one is brakes, but I can add the plan if I notice brakes are due sooner than 3y/36K. |

I think that's a killer deal and I'd be really surprised if you could get another $1500 out of them. If I'm wrong, please let me know.
I bought a left-over 2019 in August and didn't get nearly that good of a deal.

I would push for a very easy 8-9% off MSRP BEFORE incentives. 8% is very easy to achieve if you are talking to an SA in internet sales. The member who mentioned $1500 extra off wiggle room is correct

FYI you will not need new brakes on a 530e for quite some time. The braking in the car is done by the eDrive system for the most part above 10mph and under 100mph. The brake pads should last 100,000 miles!
