The engine sounds good but it's pretty quiet at startup and under full throttle acceleration. Would you think for 1/2 way M model (M performance? I have no idea what they're calling it these days) that the engine note would be more forward. Guess that's not their intended market these days.

On an unrelated note, I guess I still prefer analog as these digital guages sort of "dilute" the experience. They make it seem unreal and video-game like.

It is also possible that I'm just an old fart.

That part of the screen is obscured by the malfunction message.

Have a look at other video's, even the 520D has the M logo etc. (albeit in the centre of screen) in Sport Mode... It sounds like a V8 to me, not a straight 6.

Hopefully these new electronic speedometers will be running in 60 frames per second. My current 2016 5 series is running at 30 frames per second or less and you can really notice the lag when you are ushifting/downshifting and looking at the rev counts change on the speedometer.

I just had 2 days with back to back driving in all conditions in the new G30 540 and that is not it.

This is a V8.

The large "gear" display in the instrument pod is nice! I will definitely test drive the 550xi version,....but doubt if I'd give up my ///M5 for one!
