M550i Carbon Fiber diffuser fitment

Anyone run into their diffuser not fitting over the sensor bracket? If so, did you return it or does the rear bumper need to removed to fit? Bout to return it and just go with color matched abs diffuser. This is the 2nd CF diffuser Ive ordered that dont fit right. Over it.

Your not talking about the bottom plastic plate are you? This comes off and stays off along with the stock diffuser. I am sure you know this, just making sure.

Although not Carbon Fiber, this is the one I got and it fits perfect. It will also fit the Dinan quad tips I have coming in this week.

First shot my car without the new CS CF spoiler I put on recently. Second shot is not my car, but the same diffuser with Dinan quad tips.

No, I am talking about this piece. Dude said the bumper needs to come off and then attach and it will fit over. That makes zero sense to me.

I had to remove that and replace with a different one to fit my M-Performance diffuser. And yes, I had to remove the bumper!

You got a part number for that piece or was it the dealer? Was it a shorter bracket?

I just fitted OEM m performance diffuser without changing that black trim , all screws went in right place without any issues

I did keep that black trim thinking if it comes loose then will take bumper off but nothing wrong so far

I think that part only comes when you buy diffuser but if you want i will pick trim up from body shop and let you know part number

Have you checked realoem.com for part number , that is not listed in parts

Mine is aftermarket off eBay, but I really didn't think it was a copy of anything in particular until I saw yours. I always prefer to go with OEM parts if I can. I don't recall seeing this diffuser as part of the M-performance line-up for the M550.

I just put a carbon fiber CS spoiler on and am definitely interested in CF diffuser to match it. Not overly critical because I think it looks good, but I'd think it would look great. Big money though.
Here's a better picture of my diffuser. Fits perfect. $188 bucks. Not trying to rub it in. I figured it was disposable at this price if it was crap.

I couldnt' find any aftermarket actually i wasn't even looking at black one i was looking for carbon anyway and yes agree for that price cant' go wrong .

Prices on OEM parts are high for LCI model at the moment just coz aftermarket companies haven't made these yet soon as they do prices will come down and i would feel sick if i see any carbon splitter for less than £300

I see what you did now. You just bought the CF bottom plate and attached it to your stock diffuser, right?

NO i didn't .

You can't stick carbon trim to stock bumper trim because carbon trims fits on top of gloss black trim if you know what i mean.

see pic of bumper trim
